I'm interested. Where do I start?
Contact us and we'll guide you through an easy, step-by-step process. After a no cost consultation, we'll assess your eligibility. When you're ready, we'll take care of the application requirements for the FIT program and apply to your LDC (local distribution company) for a connection agreement. Once your application is approved by the Ontario Power Authority and we have a connection agreement you are ready to proceed with signing a purchase contract and scheduling the installation of your system.

How do I know if solar is right for me?
All of our clients have different reasons for investing in solar energy. Some people highly value the opportunity to lessen their environmental impact, while others are attracted to the unique investment opportunity. There are many reasons to consider and we can help you prioritize your objectives by providing you with all of the necessary information you need to make an informed decision about your investment and product.
Am I guaranteed a return on my investment in the FIT program?
Yes. With 20 year contracts at set rates of return, the expansion of products, and decreasing cost of solar systems, solar energy projects are not only affordable, but reliable investments. Although return rates will vary depending on the system cost, set rates in the FIT and MicroFIT programs ensure a "reasonable rate of return" for owners. To learn more about system costs and fixed pricing, call us to book a consultation.
Will the investment income affect my income tax?
See Canada Revenue Agency's FIT and MicroFIT FAQ web page to learn about the tax implications of FIT and MicroFIT revenue.
Will a solar energy system affect my property taxes?
No. Electricity Generation Equipment is exempt from assessment per Section 3.18 of the Assessment Act.
Can I claim the HST on my MicroFIT system?
Yes. The Canada Revenue Agency considers the purchase and installation of microFIT projects as "Capital Personal Property" which can be claimed as an HST Income Tax Credit.
What are the minimum rooftop requirements for a microfit project?
A south facing roof with an area of at least 500 square feet. Ideally it should have no shading effects from trees or buildings and free of obstructions such as vents and chimneys.
My roof is not facing south. Is that a problem?
No doubt about it south facing rooftops with a 30 - 45 degree roof pitch are the ideal. Solar arrays facing more than 45 degrees off true south will be somewhat less efficient. East/West facing rooftops may still be a viable option, depending on the pitch. call us and we will be happy to have a look at it to see if it's viable.
In winter, do I have to keep snow off the panels?
It's not recommended. Clearing snow off of your equipment may put you and your equipment at risk. Winter months are lower producing months so typically it has minimal effect on your production. Once the sun comes out the solar panels will warm up and shed the snow on their own.
